Sally Devine

Can you feel the marching borders and omnipotent eyes
staring down from pyramids extending past the skies?
Do you see the blood-stained tablet breathing on the altar,
soiled by the sacrifice of undeserving martyrs?
Have you had the pleasure of your own ambiguous kiss?
Do you need to torment me with transcendental trips?

Take a vacation from your flesh
go see Miss Devine.
torch that bitch, sit back and trip
on the cosmic design

Get In Line!

Her universe is structured and always overseen
by heiroglyphic taskmasters from terrifying dreams.
The feathered serpent lets you visit only for a while.
She'll steal your breath, show you death, and leave you with a smile.

"soiled by the sacrifice of undeserving martyrs?" This line sounds like perfection, especially when I read it aloud.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
