    Silence

    Silence scares me
Too quiet to move for the fear of disturbing
    the serene quietude
Silence settles in the air like sweltering
heat on a toasty summer day
It surrounds me, and I am caught in it
    Afraid to leave it
tangled in a sheet of silence
and unable to remove myself from
its stalwart arms I give in
    give in to silence.

I like the poem, great description of a woman caught in fear. condensce some of your words and use give only once. great poem.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
