Silently cries

Silently cries

She silently cries until there are no more tears.
She burns inside, the deep flame of fear,

The pain sears into the darkness.
She knows no love, no kindness.

She dies more each day as her world seeps away.
She slips into this spiral; mold losing clay.

She fights for a cause she no longer knows.
Peacefully, she resigns all resistance to go with the flow.

She lays down her head, waiting the executioner.
She silently cries until there are no more tears.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
