    Spanish Guitar

    SPANISH GUITAR
    By Derwin L. Jackson

I close my eyes and imagine you
Mesmerized by the aurora of your love
Romantic melodies simply for the love of you
    My Spanish guitar, Mi Amor

The ambiance of you I anticipate
Tracing the curves of your frame wherever they lead
The acoustical groove of your love; I’ll facilitate
In harmony with you far beyond speech

Cause in my mind I see you – In my heart I feel you
In my dreams I dance with you – And every night I long to touch you
So aroused by the mood of your silhouette
And the mystical mystique of your feminine graces
Enticed by the contour of your neckline
Leading me to the path of all your sensual places

Exploring the secret garden of your love
Like an archaeologist on a love crazed excavation
To discover the hidden jewel of your body’s secret
To know and love you without fear, limits or reservations

Now, can I hold you in my arms like a Spanish guitar?
Caressing and touching you ever so gently on your heartstrings
And can I lay you down each night underneath the stars?
And take you up again to hold you as you sleep

Then I’d play you with intensity just the way you like
Then smooth it out again admiring you by candlelight
Nylon strings on tempered wood – Raised just slightly above the frets
Your expression, your love, your essence – Well tuned, well polished, well kept

And the way you respond excites me - And I’m loving your tremolo
The strength of your love calls to me - From the vibrations of your inner flow
I’ve made time just to love you – And I’m certainly not in a rush
Tantalizing moments of rhythmic bliss – Caramelized by your classical touch

And it feels just like the first but we’ve made love at least a thousand times
Flirting with you over and over again – Romantic rendezvous with you in my mind
So let’s not take intermission – Don’t want to leave until it’s all said and done
And I never want to be without you – Don’t want to miss the groove of your love song

So I’m holding you forever close to my heart
I’ll never let you go whether near or far
Because the melody of your love makes harmony with my soul
Mi Amor – My Spanish guitar

If I may speak for Diane Warren, 'this is just as good as mine'. Yo Derwin, you got mad skillz. I plan to visit your sites and look forward to checking out "Poetic Jazz".

Thanks to you both. I'm actually a Jazz Pianist trying my hand at something new.

I really enjoyed reading this poem and especially liked the comparison with the Spanish guitar.

Thanks for the props. I'm trying my hand at something new that hit me all of a sudden. Jazz Piano is my main thing.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
