    Poem Commentary

Sometimes I think this one is more like a song than a poem. I also wonder if it has a touch of "Eagles" for some flavor. Anyway, I kinda like it so I thought I would share this.

    Starlight In Your Eyes

Sunset and colors of cloudy flame

    Over a heat miraged horizon

The night stakes it daily claim

Each night is never the same

Clouds of rain, so purple kissed

The dark of the night is rising

    Homesick for something, so missed

I often wonder, why the delay?

Starlight in your eyes, up in the sky

Rays of light in your eyes

Starlight in your eyes, up in the sky

    Moonlight, eagles glide

To me it has always been amazing

When away from the cities of risk

To see the stars in the sky arriving

An escape from a world confusing

Starlight in your eyes, up in the sky

    Fireball burns, a coyote cries

Starlight in your eyes, up in the sky

    707 silently flies.

    Joshua sentinels guard the desert

Tension in cities – not here missed

The only sound is that of a lizard

As you become the evenings guest.

Starlight in your eyes, up in the sky

Politicians play a game of lies.

Starlight in your eyes, up in the sky

    Meteor explodes, a surprise

    Trials involve losing some feathers

A shower of stars do take a fall

They take a fall from a radiant point

Some people fall, do time in the joint.

Starlight in your eyes, up in the sky

Tears take too long to dry

Starlight in your eyes, up in the sky

Unmask the stranger from his disguise

Earth is certainly tried by weather

Is all of nature playing a game?

What we need is a cool breather

Instead of always taking a blame

Starlight in your eyes, up in the sky

    No reality, everyone denies

Starlight in your eyes, up in the sky

Upon the world I cannot rely

Dawn begins to paint the scene

    Purple returns on stage left

The stars fade away like a dream

Sunshine arises and begins to sing.

Starlight in your eyes, up in the sky

Night is ready to say goodbye.

Starlight in your eyes, up in the sky

    Orion's Light in your eyes.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
