Stolen Glance
In this place of peace and perfection
Work is being busily done.
Normally without detection,
Now shown in a shaft of sun. in a shaft of sun
Little beings living a life
In a tiny community;
Dealing with their strife
Forming a simple unity.
How many have ever seen
This amazing little city?
Little can I gleen,
But still I am giddy!
Just like us, in miniature
Living in woody splendor.
Wary, you can be sure,
So I must be very tender.
A small man approaches slow;
As much in awe as I.
Both of us yearn to know
Just what it is we spy.
He appears to me, a living doll;
I must seem a curious giant.
Not heeding the others' call
Venturing on, Defiant!
Reaching out our hands,
We briefly touch,
Connecting our two lands,
Imagining so very much.
I feel a tingle, try not to blink,
Craving more of what I'm seeing.
What am I meant to think?
This connection to another being!
Shifting sun is my bane;
Momentarily blinded by light!
Little men in the lane
Instantly taken from my sight.
The forest again as it seems,
Cities once more hidden. den.
Now only in dreams
Is my seeing bidden.
Work is being busily done.
Normally without detection,
Now shown in a shaft of sun. in a shaft of sun

Dealing with their strife
