STORM

I HAVE CAME IN THE HOUSE FOR THE LAST TIME

WHERE I SEE YOU LAYING ON THE COUCH

WITHOUT ONE CARE

I WORK ALL DAY TO PROVIDE FOR YOU

BUT WHY AM I BREAKING MY NECK

FOR A MAN WHO DOES NOTHING

YOU CALL ME ALL SORTS OF NAMES

SOMETIMES YOU PUT ME TO SHAME

I THINK TO MYSELF WHY AM I STILL HERE

WHAT MUST I SEE IN YOU

YOU BEG AND PLEAD DON'T LEAVE YOU ALONE

YOU CAN'T MAKE IT IN LIFE ON YOUR OWN

BUT AS I SIT AND WATCH

YOU REFUSE TO GROW UP

YOU ABUSE ME SLAP ME

PUNCH ME KICK ME WHEN I'M DOWN

YOU TREAT ME WORST THAN A DOG

AND LIKE A DOG I COME BACK TO YOU

WELL IT'S OVER I SEEN THE SUNSHINE

THE CLOUDS ROLLING AWAY

A NEW DAY IS COMING

THE STORM IS FINALLY GONE

I love the imagery. I do not care for the ALL CAPS invasiveness. For me it would be more effective in lowercase. Also, i'm not sure if your verb tenses are intentionally dialectic or not. I am a sucker for regressive behaviors of love though. At least your character could call it quits.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
