Super Nova ~ The Cost of Fame!

Dedicated to Michael Joe Jackson~“The King of Pop”

Born August 29, 1958

One day after his death

June 26, 2009

I now know why we began to cry.

Michael convinced us that he would never die!

I think that is the reason the tears came to my eyes,

As the news related how he touched all of our lives.

It was a shock and a surprise, to learn of his demise!

When finally, I wiped the tears away

There was verbally, nothing I could say.

But the pain and sadness I felt, it could not ~ would not~ be assayed.

Therefore, I decided, to dedicate and I hope you can relate,

these words about this phenomenal man.

I must not let him die in vain; I will do the best I can.

I must give him his props; it’s what his fame demands.

Super Nova comes to my mind, as his life-to-death sequence

the media spans.

Why a Super Nova?  Think of how his fame began in 1968, he was only ten.

Suddenly his fame grew brightly and the whole world knew his name;

However, unlike the super nova his brightness did NOT quickly become dim,

Until 1993, when the little ones, with their guardians accused him of an abominable sin.

The same little ones that he loved having near; which some people called strange,

 others called it queer.

But before Michael would do something to put those children in fear,

I believe he would have cut off his arm or an ear!

He only spent time with children to re-capture his lost youth, this is the truth.

Although in 2007, the authorities thought they had infallible proof,

to prove otherwise. This brought tears to the man in the mirror eyes.

Because he had to disprove, the defaming lies.

After these two accusations the super nova’s life became grim.

Like the brightest star behind the clouds, his star light grew dim.

Especially when people in his own country, whom he thought loved him

began, to make a moc-ker-y of him.

They called him Jacko and wacko, it seems he took it all in stride.

Although we all knew he was hurting inside,

As he fell from grace, in the blink and a wink of an eye.

This too made me cry, but all I could do was sigh.

They tried to destroy Michael and put him in jail.

Eventually, all of their legal efforts failed.

But Michael would never be the same ~Super Nova~ that he was born to be,

In the land of the brave and the home of the free, you see?

Michel left the land where his fame began. He sought refuge with

some Muslim brothers in another land.

I guess they tried to help him feel whole again and devise a plan

To help him return to stardom again.

But before he could make a full comeback in this power hungry, greedy,

merciless, money grubbing industry; a power greater than ALL ~ said,

“Michael Joe Jackson it’s time to rest, today is your final curtain call.”

I pray that Michael realized before he died that cryogenics is not key to eternity.

When he wakes from his deep sleep, he will see.

Eternal life is a gift from God, who has finally set him free

and now all of his enemies have to LET HIM BE!!!

I must ask, IS THIS THE COST OF FAME?

Do you give up a quiet, peaceful, ~quote~ normal life, to earn a name,

like “The King of Pop”, then get thrown out like slop!

Then quietly, pass away in shame?

Again, I ask, IS THIS THE COST OF FAME?

The same industry that praises you and raise you to be a super music man,

Will stomp you down into the mud, if you tell them you no longer can~

Play the game to fame, is that when they try to destroy you

and ruin your good name?

Who is to blame, when your life is lived in vain?

Who mourns for you and take away the pain?

When the bell tolls and it’s your final curtain call.

It’s too late to learn you were loved by all.

A Tribute to his Songs

Other thoughts come to my mind as I reminisce and try to make sense;

About the life of the “Man in the Mirror”, and his “Thriller” terrors,

as he “Ease on Down the Road” he will need “Courage” to face “Billy Jean”,

because he told his friend “Ben”, that “She’s out of My Life”.

He said he did not know if the kid she had was his, because he is not a                       “Dancing Machine” like him, he couldn’t say his “ABCs” and he didn’t look

“Black or White” and that started a fight so he had to “Beat It”!

At first, he told her, “I’ll Be There”, and that he “Never Can Say Goodbye” to her.

But shortly after, he became “Bad” and a “Smooth Criminal”.  She told him, I don’t like “The Way You Make Me Feel”; we use to get along like “Ebony and Ivory”.  She told him get to stepping and “Don’t Stop”. So he calls her and says, “You Are Not Alone” and “I Want You Back”,  because together, “We are the World”.

RIP Michael

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
