"Suspended In Time"
My thoughts are suspended in time
When you were me and I was you and we were one
When we believed forever equaled you and me
Time has taught us the complexities and struggles life can bring
Remembering when your smile brightened my darkest cloud
Your hug drowned out my woes
Your words caressed my worries away
I didn’t see the storm clouds that were coming before the sun could shine again
Playing house and acting grown, still walking in the unknown
Love… a word we tossed around without knowing the price we would pay when we used it
Driven by emotions that love making brings… is it good to you baby?
What happens when reality sits in and the love making isn’t enough?
Harsh words begin to roll off our tongues like water…hold up, I thought you loved me?
You didn’t come home last night; yeah right you slept at your boy’s house. Guess you couldn’t remember you way home
I lay in the bed alone letting these tears roll down my face; the aching in my heart won’t let me sleep
Is this really you and me? My forever love…but baby you promised me!
Now my anger prevails and clouds my judgment…I’m doing things that aren’t even in my character
Trying to escape the pain and serve up what you’ve been dishing out
Your memory returns to you and now you want to love me again, you say you can’t live without me
The one you took for granted, your ride or die, your life line, your love… that was ME
This wall around my heart is too strong for even your love to tear down
Brick by brick, layer by layer…anger and pain replaced love and devotion
Here we stand at the cross roads, do we turn left or right? Walk hand in hand or go our separate ways
Can we forgive and go through this life together again? Or is this the END?
