Sweet Nothings

The time of desire seems but a dream
Lost in translation
Life is too busy
Looking back on the past
Smiles of contempt
Not regretting time together
Forgetting the end
For the comfort once touched
Filled by an awkward silence
For the awkward silence
Filled by extreme comfort

Missing those intertwined nights
Snuggled in arms
Stolen kisses
No longer known
Fear
Driving the resistance
Betrayel
Burning the mind
With much caution
Do conversations proceed
Much hurt in eyes

Trust has diminished
Love has grown
Through the grapevine
a voice whispers
sweet nothings to hear

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
