Sweet Raven
Sweet Raven of the night—
Spread your ink black wings,
And fly to me.
Fly away to a fantasy land—
A place where my love shall be.
Sweet, sweet Raven,
Bird of majestic power—
Come and save me,
Take me to my beloved—
Lest he come to me.
The bird with feathers of night—
The bird with grace of a dancer,
Please, sweet Raven—
Come and fly to me
Before I fly to you.
Sweet Raven of the night—
Take these words
And hold them to your heart.
My heart beats like thunder,
Asking for your aid.
The night is more beautiful than ever could be,
Could you please take the time to send a message?—
I need my love here with me,
Please sweet Raven and do chores of goodwill.
Sweet, sweet Raven, call out his name for me.
Sweet Raven sing your song of dreams—
Use your wings for flight,
A flight that will be rewarded.
"Forever," sayeth I.
"Please sweet Raven, tell him forever shall be mine."
