Poem Commentary

This may seem like a haiku with a wrong syllable count, but it was just part of a writing challenge I gave to myself- poem of 3 lines, 7 syllables each. Why that count I don't know, but I invite others to try it, if they want to.

The Bloom

In a jar, in a dim room
One small bit of happiness
Still manages to bloom.

True stuff. Makes folks realize that it's not all bad. I would like to get my hands on one of those jars. Peace.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
