    The Dark Eyes of Madison

    In the coffee place. .
    I sit here and look
    And see eyes
    As beautiful as night.
At that moment my heart flies
    To another place and time.
    When love was true
    And where memories remain.
    The Dark Eyes of Madison
    Speak to my heart
    An unspoken yearning
To find warmth in this cold world.
    She waves hello
    And walks away
    Never to look back.
Yet, I watch her walk away
I only know her by her name
But the name and her eyes remain
In the memories of my heart.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
