    The Day I bled

    The Day I Bled

The day I bled, I saw you in my head, knowing what you would do; I still bled. The crown that will soon make Satan frown, it made me bleed, however, I took no heed in saving you from your savage greed; I still bled. When spikes were driven into my hands, I felt you shoot that unarmed man, I heard the screams of war, and my skin shivered with the slain unborn; however, I still bled. My feet were pierced with hate and nails, all while you continue to kill; my lips were parched with brutal heat, even though, the mother of two still gets beat, I came to teach, and you muck humility and judge; good news I still bled for you. I was whipped, beaten, and speared; my child, don’t you even care? I was cursed with an artillery of anger for speaking the truth, and you curse my name as if I was a stranger causing you danger; I am your savior born in a manger; furthermore, yes, I bled for you! I hung on a tree so that you could live free, I gave up my spirit and saved the world, but you continue to boast, never needing my Holy Ghost in your life of death and sin; actions by you I saw even then, do you wonder why, I bled for you.
I bled for love; I bled for joy, my children I bled for you.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
