Warriors Trilogy #1- The Face of Combat
The Face of Combat
The Face of Conflict is stained with the dust and grime of centuries
The Face of Combat is marked by the horror it has witnessed.
The Face of Conflict is brutal, harsh… Devoid of compassion and human expression.
The Face of Combat is bloody, bereft of hope, hollow eyed with that 1,000 yard stare.The Face of Conflict destroys all under its reptilian gaze; even its own reflection is deadly.
The Face of Combat is haunted by the memories of fear, elation, and deprivation it has experienced.
The Face of Conflict is anathema (hated, despised) to civilized man but all too common in our long history of warfare.
The Face of Combat is cold, lifeless; its eye’s hidden behind dark glasses intent upon the next threat.
The Face of Conflict gazes upon its next victim without feeling or remorse; It kills without emotion.
The Face of Combat is tracked by the tears of loss and sorrow;
For the friends and comrades gone, For the families left behind;
For the unrequited grief for a youth misspent in a maelstrom of death, destruction, and war.Only with time and help will the Face of Combat reawaken to what Faces were meant to express…
That hope, joy, beauty, wonder, and the peace that surpasses all understanding is still alive behind;
The Face of Combat.
