THE FAST LANE

THE FAST LANE

MANY ARE IN THE FAST LANE
DOING THING THAT WILL BRING NO GAIN
TAKING LIFE BY STORM
IT WILL CATCH UP WITH YOU IF YOU DO WRONG
I RATHER TAKE THING SLOW
FIGURING IT OUT AS I GO
THERE ARE MANY CHOICES TO MAKE
OUR TIME WE SHOULD TAKE
IN THE FAST LANE A LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE GOT DESTROY
A LOTS OF THING TAKE AWAY OUR JOY
POPPING PILLS COCAINE AND CRACK
THESE THING AFFECT HOW WE ACT
TAKING ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN AND MEN
THESE THING HAVE NO GAIN
HAVING NO RESPECT FOR OTHER
REMEMBER YOU TO  MAY HAVE A SISTERS OR BROTHERS
LETTING ALCOHOL RULE YOUR LIFE
TREATING PEOPLE WITH ANGER AND STRIFE
IN THE FAST LANE PARTYING ALL NIGHT
DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT WRONG OR RIGHT
I LOVE LIFE AND HOPE YOU DO TO
LIVE A GOOD LIFE IT'S BETTER FOR YOU

Reading this again it reminds me of the words in Luke 12:15 - "because even when a person has an abundance his life does not result from the things he possesses.” Another inspirational write Clift.

Very nicely written. I like that this is short and to the point. This was a great read.

Simple and true words that will reign forever. If we could all just learn this early and remember it each day and respect all those around us. Great write.... 10.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
