The Promise of a Heavy Road
Trudging along the weary road to the bayou,
Heavy steps make me go no further
I cast a glimpse of a spirit seeming untrue
As her dreams seemed struck by murder!
Step after step, this road seems longer
Limbs and knees grope for hunger
Where will this road take me? I care not.
What will this road bring me? Would I dare take a shot?
Yet I go...slumber and its lack I forgot
With no direction...not praying for perfection
Step after step...I walk this road
Seeming I've forgotten how this trek has unfold.
Yet I walk...then I walk,
My feet knows where to lead me
A path I know from its birth
How to get to you---whom I often yearn!
So I walk -- step after step
Though time buries me deep into the ground,
Don't care where as long as hope is to be found
Though this bright road appears dark to my sight
The hope of you will turn a trudge to a flight!
