The Storm of Memories
She stands on the shore and watches
An eerie silence
Overwhelming stillness all around
The storm brews
Increasing its intensity
Bubbling over as inside of her
The memories begin to spring forth
The lighting slashes
Across the soft sand
Like the razorblade
Across her tender wrists
The crash of the waves
Like the echo of her pleas
To make the pain go away
Pained and repeating
Over and over
Then the rain falls,
Soft salty tears at first
Then hard drops of rage
Sobbing cries of desperation
An eerie silence
Overwhelming stillness all around
The storm brews
Increasing its intensity
Bubbling over as inside of her
The memories begin to spring forth
The lighting slashes
Across the soft sand
Like the razorblade
Across her tender wrists
The crash of the waves
Like the echo of her pleas
To make the pain go away
Pained and repeating
Over and over
Then the rain falls,
Soft salty tears at first
Then hard drops of rage
Sobbing cries of desperation
