There Was A Day BY" Mr. Richard Smith

The was a day men stood tall
And did what they said they'd do
If they gave thier word they would
You could bet that it was true

The code was what they stood for
And them boys they had to try
Whatever it might cost 'em
For them it was do or die

It was saddle up an charge
"Till the battle was won
Whatever the task might be
Them good old boys got her done

They raised thier young with courage
To believe in truth and God
Each father passed down the law
And he did not spare the rod

By the time you was a teen
You knew how to get along
In your daddy's world
He had taught you right from wrong

You knew how to work and fight
And that honor was a thing
You didn't earn without them
Next to God your Dad was King

And now those days are over
They may never come again'
If we don't remember them
And the way things were back then
