Watching The Spring Come BY: Richard Smith

    Last night those mountain breezes
See to cut me like a knife
Now I set here on my step
And watch the spring come to life

A young wasp is bussin' 'round
    And I bet he's built a nest
Where he's apt to annoy me
But I always do my best

To live with all Gods creatures
From the house fly to the bee
I don't bother them at all
Long as they don't bother me

It's good to seem them fellers
    Crawlin' 'round and taki' wing
'Cause when you see them steady
Then it won't be long 'til Spring

All the birds are buildin' homes
    And the butterfly's are out
    After a long hard winter
You feel like you want to shout

To feel the sun warm your bones
And the blossoms on the trees
    Kinda makes you understand
All the buzzin' of the bees

I know winter's got her place
    The Good Lord knows everything
But is he let me choose one
Don't you know it would be Spring
