    To have a happy life

Living in a one bedroom shack
Six of us,four sleeping on the floor
Momma working two jobs,to make end meet
Papa running the street with different hoes
It seems the only time he come around,
is to get some loving from her
I could see there was no love their
He leave money on the dresser,
    Like she was a hoe

    Raised on bean and rice,
if we had koolaid that was cool
    Hated going to school,
Cuss i had to wear hand-me-downs
Holes in my sock and plastic shoes
I can remember many time with no lights,
    the candles were on
The fridge food was at the next doors neighbors house

To have a happy life that's what everybody want,
    but none of that matters
    After your life shatters
No food on the table, and you carry a crackhead label
Hoping the lights dont get cutoff tomorrow
    Looking for money to barrow
To have a happy, a happy life that's what everybody want,
    everybody wants

    My big bro showed me
how to hustle fiens with nicks and dimes
    Still food from H E B
To put food on the table every week
Started washing car for five dollars at a time
To see mama get time off of work
She was my only sunshine in rainy days
We got through every cloudy day

Aww, this is a heartbreaker. I feel so bad for you, but I know that you've grown from it. Your mother seems like a wonderful woman who tried her best, she wouldn't have been your sunshine if she wasn't

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
