    To Him: The Friend

I can’t stand to be just your friend
Just some girl to hang out with
That’s all I am, all I will ever be
One of the guys that you don’t see
I wish you could see me
Just look inside and see me
But I know you never will, I’m just a friend
To just see the way I look at you when you’re not looking
Your eyes, your smile, your hair
Everything so perfect and yet not
    But I don’t want perfection
I want you with all of your mistakes and flaws
And I want you to want me
Your hands, your touch, just once
I long for your embrace, warm and sweet
    But nothing will ever happen
We’ve been just friends for too long
I’ve held on to this forever
    And now you know everything
And you can do with it what you may
    But always remember our friendship
Don’t let this ruin a good thing

Strong words. I hope this opens the eyes to the man intended.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
