    Poem Commentary

i wrote this letter for my mother to read at her services! she died on mothers day this year! i hope it is worthy of her!

    To My Mommy

    To my mommy

    You “were” my life

    You “were” my world

I know we had our differences

    But you “were” my rock

Though some of my life’s troubles I did for your life

    You “were” my rock

    You “were” my salvation

    I lived for you

    I lived for my children

Because of you I am alive

Because of my children I am alive

    And “because” I lived

I am going to miss you so much

I want you to stay “forever”

    Forever by my side

For eternal life you’ll be “my” footprints

You’ll hold me when I need you

You’ll carry me through “With a mothers love”

I “know” you will be there I love you too

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
