To Our One and Only Vasula

Today is the day of silence, the day of dull and gray colors.
Today is the day of our frozen hearts, the day of our inflexible fingers.
We woke up with tongs around our hearts
and our breath whistles due to the chill of our souls.
Today is the day of our sentence, the day of our conviction.
We'll walk hanging heads, bending shoulders
till your last little bed, till your last little place.
Lilies will not exist to frame your innocence....
We will be satisfied with some carnations and few roses....
The tips of our fingers will be scared
at the touch of your beautiful, little tiny body.
Our eyes will  be stung at the view of your wounds' pain.

Our miniaturized angel, our little doll,
    why did you abandon us?
Our inside  is empty and our bodies
wander like cursed shadows without you.
Why our baby did not miss our poor bosom?
Why our beloved did not listen to the agony of our voice?
Your loss tore apart our hopes, our dreams for the future.

You will never enjoy the petting of our hands
which are shaken in the idea that they will never touch you again...
You never saw the blue of the sky, the  endlessness of the sea.
You never smelt the  passion of flowers
or listened to the secrets of birds.
You have never had a chance to be  stunned by the light of sun...
You preferred the night and the darkness..
You became  a bright star but we are left in our loneliness.
You didn't tolerate the pain of this world
    even though you did not have the chance  to know;
(or you knew and denied it?)

My  little beloved Vasula, my little flower
I loved you as nothing else in this world
from the  moment I felt  you inside me.
How can I forget the pain  in your eyes,
eyes full of brightness, unique, but also wet of tears...
Only one blinking  before  the end....
The first and last good bye in front our perplexed glances
    and petrified hearts.
How can we forget your last moments?
    your struggle for survival?

Your blood froze our hearts and stained our memories
together with your little white dress...

I do not have words, my mouth dry
and your fathers eyes two brimmed lakes.
Do not forget us Vasula, do not forget....
Wherever you are our souls fly.
You are not alone our baby.
You are in our minds and our hearts.
We will never be the same as we were before.
You are a part of our bodies that will not relax
    until we will join you.

You conveyed the emotion so well I could feel with you. Nicely done though this poem wears a robe of sorrow.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
