To You I Run and Hide by Lisa Robertson

You see the tears I've shed the pain I feel inside
I feel safe with You oh Lord, to You I run and hide
No one knows or understands the way I feel sometimes
All that matters is that You do, to You I run and hide
With each step I take, You stand by my side
And when I may fall, to You I run and hide
You strengthen me through storms and roughest tides
It gives me such joy to know dear Lord, to You I run and hide...

Safe am I, safe am I, in the hollow of His Hand----this is the song that comes to mind as I read your words. I can feel the tears you shed and the refreshing of the Lord to lift the tears, at the same moment. That is how a really good poem can tug at the heart. Bravo!

Thank you for your comment. I wrote this when my parents got divorced and I had no one else better to run to but God!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
