TORN
Torn Let me scream out! Is anyone listening? Let me remove the combination of sex, ego, and lust, and hear I stand as a princess in God’s will. Let me focus on me myself and I, this cycle of love has failed so many times tired of repeating generations after generation, so let me switch it up let me approach you as a women with goals and aspirations, let me wear my hair down and let my divine light shine let me adjust my child bearing hips, and approach you with an intelligence that God has blessed me with. A sassiness of a woman that knows what she wants. A reflexation bronzed by the fingertips of God that has been placed on this earth. Time to change the game up and walk into my purpose in life, and change the sex symbol you have in your eyes as I past you by. I don’t have time for confusion for God is not a God of confusion. He has called me by name in the book of the Lamb, heard of it? Being called the head not the tail. No more shackles of this world I have been released, no more tears streaming down my face, I look to the hills. Torn from your man made image I’ve been embraced. God has set things in order, he is a mighty God, and in order comes perfection, and from perfection comes glory. I bow to his feet and ask what is there for me to become, for men with too much ego hardens the heart, so I keep it moving and shake the dust from my feet , too blessed to be stressed over men temptations, when my God has everything under control. Torn from what man to love trembling over my emotions, you were consistently offensive to my feelings, acting rebarbative towards me and my words, negligence to give attention, for I was shared with your other lovers, that you put before me, scared to tell me the truth so your lies got you trapped; but love stepped in and told me to forgive your imperfections and to humble myself and not to react with anger, and believe in what the Lord has told me that this is not my will; but the will of the beholder, and with this word comes understanding and comfort, being myself is enough, existing is enough for you to know who I am, torn from your comparisons, for I have been awakened......

Amen! Great attitude and style in this piece. The repetitive words slam the point home!

command it girl I love the sassiness

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
