Ultimate Healing

I laughed with you little girl.
I held you in the palm of my hand
and watched you dance.
Before the horror set in
And took you away.

I cried with you little girl.
I held you, nearly broken in two
and watched you gasp.
Before the reality set in
And took you away.

I hid with you little girl.
I held your hand when you were afraid
and watched you yearn.
Before the loneliness came in
And took you away.

I hurt with you little girl.
I cradled your battered head
and watched you panic.
Before the pattern set in
And took you away.

I ached with you little girl.
I held your pieces all shattered inside
and watched you despair.
Before the pills came in
And took you away.

I died for you little girl.
I spread my arms open wide
I watched you come alive.
And before the horror came back
I took it away.

I bled for you little girl.
I felt the thorns pierce my flesh.
I watched you grow.
And before the reality came back
I took it away.

I loved on you little girl.
I let them curse and reject me first
I watched you soar.
And before the aloneness came back
I took it away.

I prayed for you little girl
I fell on my face before my Father's throne
I watched you heal.
And before the pattern came back
I took it away.

I became one with you little girl
Shattered pieces became a whole
I watched you hope.
And before the pills came back
I took them away.

You hold the truth now little girl.
Now in your graceful hands.
You saw the horror, the reality, the aloneness,
The panic, and the despair.

Show them the life, the growth,
The heights, the healing and the hope.
Show them Me- Your Jesus
And I'll take them away.

I really liked your poem it reminded me alot of my life about 7years ago very very good

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
