    VICTIM OF ILLUSION

    Why have you decided
    To leave me dashed
    With just a phrase
    An arrow piercing the heart

    Sun rise sun set
    I await what brings
    Rivers out of the desert
    So glad to see the sun when the cock crow

    Miraculously it rain
    And the wet land gladden
    And new leaf sprang out
    But is that the harvest?

    Just when the full moon
    Was about manifesting
    The dark cloud over powered
    And darkness reigned the supreme

    Day in day out
    I await the light
    Where darkness still abounds
    Illusion all of a sudden

    Mesmerize by adversity
    The quest for the oasis
    Swallow my appetite
    For tomorrow

    Soul passion

    I tend to enjoy gritty, jagged poems such as this. It reveals the level of intensity and insight that a poet has on emotion and experience. Props!
