    Victim

    Silence is golden
    Innocence lost like
    A empty swing blowing
    In the wind

    Ghosts with a familiar touch
    Stealing away in the night
    Making back alley promises
    Like a dirty politician
    Hushed mouths don't get fed
    But the truth hurts
    Brittle bones & fragile ego's
    Out stretched arms
    Send pure love
    Trusting heart looking
For a resting place to call home
But like a thief in the night
    You emerge
    Tainted dreams now play
    Where there were infinite possibilities
    Shattered pictures
    Of a woman child lost
10 going on 21 is what you said
So the ends justified the means
    As the wind blows
& the swing moves back & forth
    Try to forget
    how my flower was plucked
A daisy in full bloom you saw
    Wicked eyes lie
    Pollinating each petal
    Before it was time
    This wilted rose
    Found nourishment to thrive
    Strong root & solid foundation
    Weathered the storm
Found my place through it all
    Soaked in divine guidance &
Rested in the place of his answer
    As the sun shines &
the swing blows in the breeze
    Old petals fall away
    Allowing a new bloom

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
