Victory in Spring

Victory in Spring

Pushing up through the dark, hard, cold ground
Thin shoots pressing against compressed earth,
Winding ever upwards, inch by difficult inch,
Until it finally emerges into the crisp, fresh air.

Soft green tendrils unwinding it tiny furls
To catch the sun and the nourishing dew.
Every spring I watch with wonder and awe
As that sweet verdant plant springs victorious again.

Once again the lovely flower blooms
And I call it....HOPE.

Thank you...a "special" spring indeed...always re-birth...*smiles*

thank you for your comment I will have to check out your poetry. I have only written one so far. But I do love spring.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
