Waiting
The sun came out and asked me if I wanted to play,
I told him that I couldn't, maybe he could come another day.
The wind blew through my hair and asked me if I wanted to dance,
I told him I was waiting and didn't want to miss my chance.
The rain came down asking for my lips to kiss on,
I told him no, not even if my lover is gone.
The fire blazed and danced in the night wanting to warm me in the moon light.
I told him that his flame held to heat,
My loves embrace he could never beat.
The man in the moon offered me the stars,
I told I would never go, not even if he promised mars.
The waves at the sea shore beconed me to come explore,
I told them thanks, but I'd just walk along,
Maybe they could play for me my lovers song.
Time went on but my world was still,
Waiting for my love to come over the next hill.
Then death came by and said, "It's time to close your eyes"
"I'm sorry you never got to truely say your good byes."
