    We Need God

     

    Look at how these people

    Are trying to do us

    Remove these words from money

    “In God We Trust.”

     

    This is just another scheme

    I have no doubt

    To try in get rid of God

    They want to muffle Him out.

     

    They’ve tried in the past

    By taking prayer out of schools

    They knew the children would change

    Began breaking all the rules.

     

    They want to omit God

    When doing the pledge to the flag

    I don’t know about you

    But I think it’s a drag.

     

    They said religion and government

    Should be totally apart

    But without God it won’t work

    No need in trying to start.

     

    Y’all need to think long and hard

    About what you’re trying to do

    Because on the Day of Judgment

    God is who you’ll answer too.

     

    You should know we need God

    In all walks of life

    Because we can do nothing

    Without our savior Jesus Christ.

    AMEN!! You've spoken many truths in this poem and I agree with all the points you made. Back in the 80's, my grandmother said things were better in this country when people had religion. I believe that very much. This is a great poem, with a WONDERFUL message. God bless you.

    I like your observation, your conviction, your connection of what is missing, and the ultimate price to pay when we leave God out... "Because on the Day of Judgment,God is who you’ll answer too." Excellent!

    Very good observation. You know the founding fathers formed this country based on their beleif in God. I do trust in God and I like that on my currency. Maybe they could have two forms of currency for believers and non. That is silly but you get the point. Its a scary though because when the days of revelation come it may come to that just like the mark. A good thought provoking poem Clementine.

    Thanks CM. I wish things weren’t like they are, but I figure things are going to get a whole lot worst, before they get better. Maybe all of this is a part of the end of times; if so, then I don’t believe things will get better, until the very end comes. Thanks for your comments and be blessed!!!

    I love this poem!! It gets you thinking about our government and how life would be for teens if we still had prayer in school. My friends and I were talking about the debate about trying to take god out of school, the pledge, and now the government. We hope it doesn't get as far as no prayer at all in our life time even though the time will come. With all the negativity we see daily with people bashing god's name teens turn to violence without even thinking.

    Thank you Ahardwalk for your visit and comments!!! I believe if we still had prayer in school, more children would have greater moral values. The children would also be more respectful and considerate of others. They would be more obedient and less violent. A lot more prayer is needed on their behalf, because our today’s children are our future leaders. If we don’t help make a change in their lives now, then what kind of life will we, as a people, have to live later? Be blessed!!!

    This is SO very true. You have just voiced my inner mind, and did a wonderful job of it. I dont think ppl understand what they are doing by removing morality out of society... they just arent using their brains at all, all they think about is what they want and how "oppressive" christianity is. Well one day they will learn its not oppression , its just the right way to live! Good Job
