    Weep no more

                   Weep no more

The child lay still as her mother wept,
No more pain, she whispers to her baby girl.
To witness such sorrow, no hatred kept,
As she watches death's dark cloak unfurl.
All will die now, as winter draws near,
With no one left to bury the dead.
People treated like cattle, always living in fear,
It's all there in the paper you've just read.
And what are we doing, not a damn thing,
Why on Earth must these people die.
No more praises to God will they sing,
In a word! Ethnic Cleansing... that's why.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
