What does it matter
What does it matter that we've never agreed,
Or never apologized for a single misdeed?
What does it matter if I'm wrong or you're right,
if we fight over nothing the rest of our life?
When will it matter that we did not bend,
that we sank with the ship.
Is it pride we defend?
Why does it matter if we don't even try,
if we let understanding pass right on by.
Why does it matter that you understand now?
I'd take it all back, if I only knew how!
