    What I Regret

    As the days go by,
    I still ask myself:
Why did I ever fall in love?
Why did I ever believe you when you told me I love you?
    What did I did wrong?
How did I ever play along?

    That's when I realize:
I should have never given you my heart,
'Cause I knew you'll break it apart,
But I gave it to you anyways,
And that's what I regret til' the day of today,
and what i will for the rest of eternity.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
