What Should A Father Be?

Poem Commentary

2010 written on Fathers' Day in memory of the greatest father of them all. Yahweh.

What Should A Father Be?

Father should be the top of my little world,
the one that I look-up to.
Father should be very wise in everything,
at least wiser than me.
Father should be strong and powerful,
to protect me.
Father should be forgiving and compassionate,
especially towards me.
Father should be there when I am in trouble,
to comfort and defend me.
Father should be my bestest friend,
always willing to talk with me.
Father should be my greatest teacher,
teaching me all the mysteries of life.
Father should be real and reasonable,
in all his dealings with me.
Father should be reliable and dependable,
in all he says and does.
In other words every father should emulate,
my Heavenly Father, Yahweh.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem Paula. We all see our father as the greatest even sometimes they make mistakes as every human being, and yeah, sometimes we think he is our god, saying that, I agree with every word in this piece of art

your welcome!

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
