Where have you gone?

    Where have you gone?

Where have you gone? Kunmoon! Kunmoon!

    Up above the bright moon!

Why have you left us so soon?

Please tell; to meet you, how to tune?

    Oh, little sister, dear Kunmoon!

May you please have mercy on me,

And appear in dreams from the moon?

Oh loving Kunmoon, have mercy on me.

Though you left us, though you are invisible,

You grow in my mind and Heart.

You take shape in my Heart and Soul,

And your loving words live at Heart.

Oh! dear sister Kunmoon, give me word
That you shall continue to come in dreams

That this tie even not cut by sword,

And you will be my sister in next births.

Kunmoon, Dear sister, where are you now?

Please give me word and tell me,

You would not leave me before I go,

Oh! Little sister, have mercy on me.

Though I see you've agreed with bfor's interpretation, your piece doesn't strike me that way at all. There seems to be an Asian aspect to it; a prayer to a sister who has, too soon, joined with honored ancestors? I don't see it as a song, there's a ritualism in it... is it a chant of sorts? It's fascinating in any event. Compelling work.

it seems that this is a take it literal type of poem. i love the emotion in it. but to me it lacked the song to go with the emotion. so it just came off like an emotional rant. either way it was good

You are right, it's a literal poetry and it lacks song aspect to it.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
