Why I don't Get Out of Bed

Why don't I get out of bed?
I can't, my body feels like lead.
My eyes feel swollen and red,
And there's a buzzing going round in my head.
I don't get out of bed,
'Cuz I don't WANT to get out of bed.

I don't get out bed because it's way too early!
    My attitude is surly,
And I just know my hair is curly
Because last night I took a shower
And drying my hair takes an hour,
So I went to bed instead
And now I woke up with bed head!

I don't want to get out of bed
'Cuz I have a math test today
And last night I studied in the worst possible way!
    I turned on the television;
    Instead of doing my division
And now I'm going to fail my test today!

I don't want to get out of bed,
    Maybe I'll just fake sick.
I could make my voice groggy and thick
And my palms sweaty and slick.
I DON'T WANT TO GET OUT OF BED!!!

I loved this one. Who hasn't been there, hating to get out of bed. I loved the way you made words flow and the touch of humor that you put into it.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
