Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman

You were my Wonder Woman,
and rightfully so.
I loved you with no Wonder Woman,
from our highs and the low.
Lately, Ive been Wondering Woman,
am I still your Hero?
Does it make you Wonder Woman,
where else this can go?
I trusted your every word Woman,
and this you should know.
I was treating you Wonderfully Woman,
because you deserved it so.
Yet still I am Wondering Woman,
Do you want me anymore?
Not just my being with you Woman,
like I was before.
My companionship is what I'm weilding Woman,
Do you want it or no?
Remember when it was Wonderful Woman,
how things moved so slow?
All you say now is I worry you Woman,
all you can't take it no more.
Well, I'll make it work for you Woman,
how bout I simply go?
Don't worry where, no need to Wonder Woman,
I'll be fine, this you know.
You will do well too, there's no Wonder Woman,
We just can't argue anymore.
Our end has not been Wonderful Woman,
but this I do know.
You definitely were my Wonder Woman
I wish I was still your Hero.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
