You Will Never Know
You will never knowthe ache inside my heart,
the guilt that haunts my nights,
the guilt that plagues my days.
You will never know
the oceans of silent tears,
my whispered screams,
as I try to erase the pain.
You will never know
the power of exhaustion,
wasted and worn,
unable to rest.
You will never know
the thoughts that race around,
encompassing my feeble mind,
screaming murderer, murderer.
You will never know
the death of innocence,
the sight of fragile arms
reaching out for mercy.
You will never know
the remorse pulsing through my veins,
evoking a deep hate,
a deep hate against myself.
You will never know
the agony of dying,
of dying emotionally
from the inside out.
You will never know
my tortured soul,
never understand,
and I am thankful that is so.
