15 SECONDS
A FAR AWAY VOICE, COMING THROUGH THE LINE
NO OTHER CHOICE, PRETEND EVERYTHINGS' FINE.
I TRY NOT TO BE DOWN, OR SHOW MY RAGE
THOUGH YOU ARE BOUND & TRAPPED IN A CAGE.
WE TALK OF THINGS THAT REALLY DON'T MATTER
THE JOY IT BRINGS, THIS SOUND OF CHATTER.
THE RELIEF I FEEL, THOUGH MY HEART BEATS FAST,
TO KNOW YOU ARE REAL, HEARING YOUR VOICE AT LAST.
A FAR AWAY SMILE SWEEPS THROUGH THE PHONE
AND JUST FOR AWHILE, YOU ARE NOT ALL ALONE.
THEN A STRANGE VOICE, "YOU HAVE ONE MORE MINUTE."
IT'S NOT OUR CHOICE BUT WE NOW MUST END IT.
THE CLOCK TICKS AWAY, NO TIME TO CRY
BARELY TIME TO SAY ONE LAST GOOD BYE
CONTROLED BY A VOICE, AS MY HEART BECKONS
THE NEW RECORDED CHOICE " YOU HAVE 15 SECONDS"
I TRY TO LET YOU GO, BEFORE THE PHONE GOES DEAD
CAUSE I HATE THAT YOU KNOW, LIKE I ALWAYS SAID
BUT I GOT TO SEND YOU HOPE, ATLEAST AS BEST I COULD
IT CAME THROUGH THE WIRE ROPE, JUST LIKE I SAID IT WOULD
I LOVE YOU MY SON, FOR YOU ARE MY LIFE LINE
SO DON'T YOU WORRY NONE, CAUSE EVERYTHING IS JUST FIINE!
