    A Date With Fate

Sitting in the peace and stillness of the night I wonder, is it society or ourselves that put us under.
I don't know what made me ask myself this question, I guess it's because I feel I've been cut short of my blessing.
Why do people always think the reason they don't make it is someone else's fault. I don't because it goes against everything I've been taught.
My mother told me to always stand on your own two feet, and that the bible says with faith you get what you seek.
It seems as though what I'm seeking is no where to be found, if opportunity knocks why is it not making a sound? I guess it only comes when I'm not around.
I'm not giving up because in my Lord I have faith and that's something the devil himself cannot take.
Opportunity and I have a date and until that day I will patiently wait. When that day finally come opportunity and I are going to tango and we'll forever dance. I know I can be sucessful I just need a chance.

I agree with the point of this poem, these days kids think their entitled to things without having to work for them...

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
