A Lonesome Snapshot
The sun is still shining, the moon's sometimes full,
the birds have all migrated south for the winter, 'round here it's much too cool...
The leaves are falling, the clouds rolling by, everything is just
perfect, 'cept that one thing's not right...
The kids are out of school, the elderly scamper by
in their GEOs and sedans trying to beat the traffic lights.
All the jacks are in their boxes, all the
candles are lit, everything is in place
but nothing else fits...
The government is on TV, the weather's on in ten,
the bill to lower income taxes got vetoed again.
The city tells me one thing, the country blows my mind,
everyone moves on without me,
I'd rather stay behind.
I've realised what's different here
a blind man could see the clue...
Everything else in the world collides
when I'm without you...
