Poem Commentary

More from the Book Of A.

Just 2 say "Thanks"

I've got nothing new to write
   I've nothing sweet to say
We are living seperate lives now
   In a most peculiar way...

There's no new knowledge here
   There's nothing useful today
I'll tend to this order of business
& then be on my lonely way...

Thank You for all the good advice
Thanks for the irreplaceable times
Thanks for every time you felt
       the need to sacrifice...

Just in case you may have forgot
Just in case you didn't know
I am giving to you my life
   In a most metaphorical way...

There's no hard feelings here
There's no harsh words left to say
I'll mend all of you tender stitches
   & heal your heart someday...

Thank You for every last gorgeous smile
Thanks for the neverending miles
Thanks for defending our love through
       all the do-or-die trials

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
