A Peaceful LIfe

A shoulder always ready for tears,
A smile that last throught the years.
A kindness that no other could share.
A love that no one could compare.
A hand that lends to those in need,
without any thought of race or creed.
A twinkle in the eyes of a child,
when they find a trust that proves worthwhile.
A home for those who have not one.
A Friend for those who feel alone.
A rose that fills you with its glory.
An elder who will share his story.
These are things that bring us life,
and grant a pause upon our strife.
If ever given the chance to see,
even one of these beautiful things;
then you can say that you lived life well,
and there is peace that within you dwells.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
