    A SMILE

What would it take to place a smile upon  your face?
To see the joy in your eyes as the smile takes its place.
Could I tell you a funny story to make you burst with laughter?
Or take you to the theater and dinner and call you the morning after?
Can I bring you flowers to brighten up your day?
How about a quite evening under the stars, or a game of trivia we'll play.
To put a smile upon your face I would very much like to do,
Seeing you trnsformed into a beauty as your smile grew and grew.
I ask you now and please tell me the truth, how may I make you to smile?
Do I need to make funny faces and silly every once in while?
I know, I'll just ask...Will you grant a beautiful smile to me?
Allow me to partake of this beauty; let your spirit set your smile free.

I am qiute sure that you can and will. Thank you for your comment.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
