An Explanation for a Pain Like This

    It shakes,
    It quivers,
    It shivers all over.
    You cannot see it,
    But I,
    I can only feel it.
    My heart trembles,
    And aches,
    My love for you
    Is so strong,
    It hurts to say goodbye,
    I cannot hide this feeling,
    Not for very long,
You make me feel so safe and secure,
Like nothing can brake us apart.
    But I have dropped,
    Miles and miles
    Away from you,
    Into a dark,
    Cold,
    Empty place.
    Without you,
    I am nothing.
    My heart shakes,
Because I no longer have the confidence
    That you gave me,
    My heart quivers,
Because I no longer have the stability
    To stand strong,
    My heart shivers all over,
Because I no longer have your arms
    To comfort me,
    You cannot see it,
    I can only feel it.

not bad kiddo. only 15, huh? my daughter writes some poetry almost as good, and she's only 13. kept the theme alive throughout, and you've got a very personable POV.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
