not wanting to leave my son out of my wordly advise, I scribbled this together prior his big wedding day.

AN ODE TO OLLIE- OR CUZ MOM ALWAYS HAS SOMETHING TO SAY

(With love and humor for my son)

As you enter this next phase of your life,

Rejoice and be happy you have found a fantastic wife!

As your bride glides down through the aisle,

Let your nerves go and use your heart to smile.

Your days won’t always be filled with glorious bliss,

But with a BABE like Lauren- you just can’t miss.

As we all know sometimes things get tough,

Give her a laugh and run through the yard in the BUFF!

You’re youthful right now, but we all get old,

Lauren will always look better or so I am told.

But now on a more serious side,

Love your wife and always treat her as your bride.

As your days together fade into night,

NEVER fall asleep in the middle of a fight.

When the little Lauren’s and Ollie’s arrive and you need some rest,

Remember your brothers owe you a few babysitting days –AT BEST!

Now you face your true growth as a man,

Just keep on doing the best that you can.

So walk hand in hand for the rest of your life,

Keep in mind the boss in the family is ALWAYS the wife!

The moral of the story is simple as can be-

When the wife is happy- everybody’s HAPPY!

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
