    Poem Commentary

this was the daily challenge and the kids (teens) thought it was cute and true to the sterotyping of officers and their passion for doughnuts-

    The Doughnut Challenge

The nourishment of the men in blue,

A few extra calories for me and you.

A staple in the diet of men of law,

Did he use the taser to get the bear claw?

Crispy Creme and Dunkins a safe place, you bet,

I haven't seen a cop pass one yet.

I don't mean to insult the entire police force,

There are a few who don't eat doughnuts, of course.

But these few often retire before their time,

A cop who hates doughnuts is not a good sign.

So if its tickets that you hate to pay,

Take a few doughnuts with you every day.

A nice take on the men in blue and always the doughnut connection. A nice touch of humor to help keep the balance of the world aligned correctly.

    It is already posted there

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
