    Apologies are for suckers!

    You fought.
    Im sorry, won't happen again.

    You fight again.
    Let's be friends.

Why do it again? Why apologize.
What is the significance of apologies?
    Why?

Friends are boulders holding you back.
    Gum in your hair.
    A spot on your clothes.
Holding you back from your potential.
    Feeding off your emotions,
    until you crack,
    and break free from them.
    They stay with you,
so you may be stripped of independence.
    They fight with you,
    on irrelevent topics.
    They are the hole,
    and they suck you in.
    What a waste.
After a battle, they come back.
    What do you want?
Don't you see I'm better off without you?
    Come on! Let's be friends.
They decieve you in thinking that it's their heart.
But really, they're after what you offer.
    Everybody enjoys you, except them.
    Her.
    It.
Now she wants to come back.
    Apologize?
    Ha!
    Pathetic, piece of scum!
    You worthless ingrate!
    That's not worth my time.
    We fought for a reason.
We stopped talking for a reason.
We aren't friends for a reason.
    No take backs.
    No undos.
    No apologies.
    I'm walking away because
    apologies are for suckers.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
